Visiting PhD students

Would you like to carry out research as part of your PhD? To this end, you have the option of enrolling at the University of Wuppertal for a period of up to four semesters.

Semester dates:

• Winter semester: 1 October – 31 March
• Summer semester: 1 April – 30 September

Application:

You must first apply directly to the faculty responsible for your research project. The details of your research visit will then be set out in a contract.

Enrolment:

You must then apply for enrolment at the international student administration office. To do this, please email the following documents to doctorate[at]uni-wuppertal.de:

• completed application form
• CV
• Letter of invitation from the host professor (specifying the exact duration of your stay)
• University certificates, including a transcript of records (in the original language and as a German or English translation certified by a sworn translator)
• Certificate of enrolment from your home institution

Deadlines for enrolment:

Winter semester: 15 October

Summer semester: 15 April
