Yes, you can take the TestAS instead of attending a preparatory course (Studienkolleg). If you achieve the appropriate test score (at least 95 points (paperbased) and 75 points (digital) in the core test, at least 100 points in the subject module), then you do not have to attend a Studienkolleg.
No, you must present a valid university entrance qualification in order to apply.
The staff at uni-assist will first check your documents formally. After a successful review, your application will be forwarded to the University of Wuppertal. The university decides on admission or rejection and the corresponding notification is sent (if you live abroad, also by e-mail).
We only issue conditional admissions if you apply for a Bachelor's program with open admission and can still attend the German language course beforehand. We do not issue conditional admissions for applications for other programmes (Bachelor's programs with restricted admissions or Master's programmes)
Yes, we offer such a course for those who wish to study with us. The preparatory German language course is a full-time course and covers levels A2-C1, concluding with the DSH exam. You can attend the preparatory German language course for a maximum of 3 semesters. If you pass the DSH exam, you can transfer to a degree programme. It costs 500.00 Euros per semester + approx. 300.00 Euros semester fee. Please note that we always have more applicants than seats and therefore cannot guarantee you a seat. Further information about the language course
The final language certificate must be presented at the latest at the time of enrolment. If you have not yet received the certificate at the time of your application, please submit a registration or participation certificate for a corresponding exam.
Please note! If you are applying for a degree programme with restricted admission, the final language certificate must be submitted by the application deadline (winter semester 15 July, summer semester 15 January).
We recognise the following language examinations:
- DSH-2 or DSH-3,
- German Language Diploma of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (DSD) Level II,
- the Goethe Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP),
- the major or minor language diploma of the Goethe-Institut,
- Goethe C2: Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom
- the TestDaF with at least level 4 in all parts of the exam
- telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule
- German as a subject in the assessment test
Yes, you can apply again via uni-assist in the coming semester.
If you would like to have your admission transferred to the next semester you may do so once, subject to certain conditions. Please check whether your desired program of study is offered in both semesters; it is not possible to carry over admission from the winter semester to the upcoming winter semester (with the exception of M.Sc. CSIS). Please send us an email regarding this topic. If this involves a master’s admission, the Master’s Examination Board must first give its renewed approval.
A transfer is only possible until the end of the enrollment deadline (Degree Programme: Winter semester October 31, Summer semester April 30; German language course: Winter semester October 15, Summer semester April 15).
